There is a new huge force in local television around and its name is You Tube. You Tube has created a News Near You feature that senses a person's location and pulls up news video that is relevant to people in that particular area. It is said in time it could fundamentally engineer a local newscast on instant. You Tube says they are helping TV stations by adding a new venue, but TV station disagree; in actually they are only becoming more competition. Therefore most of the YouTube videos near you come from nontraditional sources: radio stations, newspapers, colleges and, in the case of a fledgling San Francisco outfit called VidSF, three friends who despise the local TV diet of fires and homicides. There are many debates about this new feature and whether or not it will knocks local television news out of the competition.

I chose this article because I found it interesting how the competition in media is rapidly growing. I personally think that finding news on YouTube is fantastic. I know someone like me uses You Tube a lot; in fact I visit the site a least once a day. This is very convenient for me and people like me who hardly watch TV.
